Valerie George is a cosmetic chemist, science communicator, educator, leader and avid proponent of transparency in the beauty industry. She focuses on the latest research in hair care and hair color as President of Simply Formulas, an R&D lab newly relocated to Dallas, TX. Valerie is a board member of the IBA, serving on the Tech Reg and Governance Committees. She is also currently the Area III Director for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, as well as is a two-time past chair of the California Chapter of the SCC, past chair of the Committee on Scientific Affairs for the National SCC, and is a recipient of the Chapter Merit Award for her services to the Society. She enjoys sharing her love of ingredients with others, and can be found doing so in her monthly advice column, Dear Valerie, published in Happi Magazine. Valerie also shares her knowledge as co-host of The Beauty Brains podcast, the number one ad-free beauty podcast with nearly 3 million downloads.
